Kecon A/S was founded in 1999, when two smaller forging companies merged. KECON A/S became the name of the new company, which is a Danish company privately owned by Bjarne Kristensen and Benny Egesø.
Kecon A/S has enjoyed almost continuous economic growth since it was established, and its production area has increased from just under 1,000 m2 in 2000 to nearly 3,500 m2 today.
In 2008, Kecon was awarded the Initiative Award in recognition of its significant growth and associated job creation, which continue to this day.

Kecon A/S acquired the industrial steel chimney manufacturing company Skandinavisk Skorstens Montage SSM in 2011.
